 THE FRENCH REVOLUTION Beginning of the revolt The Bastille was a prison in Paris, France. It was destroyed during the French Revolution, on 14 July 1789. It was attacked by rebels from the third estate. This was the beginning of the Revolution. Causes of the Revolution *Social Causes:- i) There was a federal system consisting of three estates.
